As we write to you today war still rages on in Ukraine but its too easy for us to forget that many people are still suffering from a brutal war that shows no sign of letting up.  We wanted to take the time to remind you of the great need that people face during the ravages of war, so we share this video from Pastor Vasilev (click here)Please watch this video which includes accounts of prison ministry, a Baptism, street evangelism, food bank provision and gracious thanks for your support and prayers.

Russia has been targeting energy infrastructure, but church continues in Ukraine via a power generator and extension leads.  You just cant stop God's Gospel being shared. Read more (here).

There are many children living in Odessa under extremely difficult economic situations, many families cannot afford clothes to cope with the colder weather, books or the right nutritional food.  This Christmas Ukrainians will be celebrating Christmas on 25th December in tandem with nations in the West.  So we will be celebrating Christ's birth on the same day as our brothers and sisters living under very torrid conditions. We hope to increase our offering to Pastor Vasilev and his church during this period that we might buy clothes, toys, books and presents for the children in Odessa. So that children there too continue to share the hope that Christ's birth brought to mankind. If you would like to donate towards this project please donate (here).

UK:

We wrote a report on the work of British Asian Christian Association who have been serving food to needy people in Ilford for almost three years. During COVID-19 we were the only homeless meals project that continued throughout the pandemic, thanks to a technical risk assessment and method statement that was endorsed by Redbridge  Council. Please read the account which shares some videos of our work (here).

12 year old Willow Chowdhry, has been volunteering at the Meals for the Needy project since her sister Hannah Chowdhry moved to Scotland to start her law degree, she shares her experiences (here).

Pakistan:

A Christian college student from Pakpattan, Pakistan was filmed being forcefully raped, and was then blackmailed into undergoing further rapes by 8 Muslim sexual predators in the area. Despite evidence to the contrary local police have declared 7 of the rapists innocent in an investigation report. The family of the victim are the only Christian family in the area and are bombarded with daily threats from influential people demanding they drop the case.  Read more (here).  British Asian Christian Association are hoping to take over the cost of a legal advocate for the family and to help them to a safe house. If you want to help you can donate (here).

Saif-ul-Malook Pakistan's most successful blasphemy lawyer was hired by British Asian Christian Association, to appeal against the blasphemy sentence that has kept Pastor Zafar Bhatti in jail for over 10 years. Mr Malook has filed an appeal and is confident we will be successful in obtaining the release of Pakistan's longest imprisoned blasphemy victim ever.  Read more (here). We still have to pay Mr Malook a further £4000 and would appreciate your donations towards this work (here).

British Asian Christian Association, held our first post-flood medical camp for 2022.  Delays were caused by the shortage of doctors due to the scale of the floods this year.  Visitors from all faiths were treated for Malaria, Dengue Fever, Dysentry, food poisoning Cholera and other ailments. Read more (here).  We would like to operate more of theses medical camps in other forgotten Christian communities but need your help to do so.  If you would like to donate you can do so (here).

A Christian Community Hall  was locked by the son of Muslim Man who later claimed ownership without authority. Christians were kept out of their own building for 24 hours after police refused to take action. BACA intervention resulted in improved police action and a return of the property. A few days later a Muslim mob tore down the gates of the church and began desecrating a cross on the gate, When a Christian man objected against the forced trespass, he and his were attacked by the Muslim mob.  Read more (here)

Christians found drinking poisonous water from a contaminated pump were provided with the installation of a new clean water pump (click here).  This was the second of our water pump projects post-flood.  We hope with your donations to install a third near enslaved brick kiln in Kasur.  At the location we also hope to build a toilet for women who have complained about the number of times young girls have been kidnapped and raped when walking into local fields to relieve themselves. You can donate towards our clean water and dignity project (here).

Thailand:

Our work with the refugees and asylum seekers in Thailand has continued even though monsoon floods there made it difficult for our officer to meet our beneficiaries. Floods in Thailand this year were ferocious, resulting in the closing of businesses. This meant already impoverished Pak-Christian families had to go without food because they could not earn through the black-market employment they usually survive on. Our grants for food arrived at an opportune moment ensuring that these families could survive through a difficult period.  We hope to expand our work to help more families but can only do so with your assistance.  You can donate towards this project (here)

We still need to raise a further £4000 for the new solicitor appointed for Zafar Bhatti to finalise his invoice.  If you are moved to help You can donate (here).

We are still seeking more help from supporters who are willing to help us with writing articles. We need commitments from people that can spare the time to write and research and have passion for the work that we do.  If you are interested please email juliet@britishasianchristians.org or call 020 3488 5316.

We are seeking old computers and mobile phones that are no longer required to share with deprived communities in Pakistan and India.  If you have items that you would like to donate please contact us as we are able to collect them from locations within or around London. If you have items you'd like to donate please email juliet@britishasianchristians.org or call 020 3488 5316.  You can alternatively post them to British Asian Christian Association, Unit 74934, PO Box 6945, London, W1A 6US.  We thank you for those of you who have already responded to this request.

Putin targets Ukrainian power stations in attempt to break resistance – Pastor Vasilev continues to save souls using petrol generator to power church

By

Though not ideal, Pastor Vasilev has been able to continue his services in Ukraine by using extension leads and a petrol generator.

Attempts by Russia to end Ukrainian resistance through targeted attacks on the country’s energy infrastructure have reduced output by 30%.  However, this has had little effect on diminishing Ukrainian morale as children take dance classes in the dark.  The BBC reports that families have got used to blackouts and living with reduced energy consumption – few if any have called for a quicker end to the war (click here).

Vitaliy Klitschko Mayor of Kyiv has said that people may have to prepare for evacuation if more of the city’s energy infrastructure is destroyed.

12 Y/O girl finds joy in serving local homeless people.

By

Willow Chowdhry (12 yrs)  has been serving homeless people regularly since October 2020. Our young volunteer has enjoyed serving hot meals and drinks to up to 45 people a day and setting up and distributing a food bank.

Willow generally only volunteers on Saturdays but has participated a few times after school, as she has to travel with her mother Juliet Chowdhry when her coach arrives late from the grammar school she attends over 30 miles away from her home.

British Asian Christian Association now serving hotmeals and foodbank to 45 people 3 days a week

By

British Asian Christian Association has been running our ‘Meals for the Needy’ project since 23rd January 2020 (click here).

The project initially began as table-seated event and at our peak we had over 21 people attending within 2 months of beginning our project (click here).

Many homeless, however believe our outreach began much earlier when we conducted a series of monthly community events under the title of Redbridge Festival in Ilford Town Centre (click here). The events united many local churches of varying denominations in a programme of community action and prayer (click here).   The events ensured monthly healings took place in Ilford town centre and most months people were saved and gave their life to Christ.  Some of the events had an interfaith harmony aspect as we sought to improve local community peace (click here) .

Pakistan’s best blasphemy lawyer is confident that Zafar Bhatti will be set free!

By

Frail Nawab Bibi was taken to hospital for treatment

We wrote recently about our success in appointing Pakistan’s most successful blasphemy Law solicitor for Zafar Bhatti (click here).

Saif-ul- Malook has filed an application for bail for Zafar Bhatti:

In a detailed meeting with Saif Ul Malook at his office on 24th September, Mr Malook informed our Operations Manager that he has obtained the list books of the case, two large volumes to be exact. Mr Malook has studied every bit of the case notes and has now  filed a bail application at the office of the court registrar in Rawalpindi and he now expects that a date for an appeal hearing for Zafar Bhatti will be fixed before December. Mr Malook, said:

“It’s the first time in my career that I am declaring even before prosecuting a case in court that Zafar will be released very soon”

“All I am waiting is a date to be fixed for a hearing – we have a very strong case.”

We have shared this good news with Zafar Bhatti during our last visit to Adiala jail on 20th October.

Zafar Bhatti was happy to hear this news. He said,

“I have been very impressed during my meetings with Saif-ul-Malook.

“He is more confodent and seems more knowledgeable  about the law than any of the previous solicitors that have advocated for me.

“British Asian Christian Association have brought me such good news and I believe God will free me from my shackles just as he set Paul free.

“I have always known God loves me and I have always believed that He has never forsaken me”

Severe floods create further burden on reeling Pak-Christian asylum-seekers and refugees of Bangkok

By

Flooded streets of Bangkok

Floods have ravaged Thailand where thousands of Pakistani Christians fleeing persecution have been seeking refuge or hoping to transition to a hospitable nation in the West.

The floods are the worst to hit Thailand for many years.  Thai Authorities reported that more than 70,000 homes were inundated, 13,000 people have been displaced, and six people killed (click here).

Bangkok based Pak-Christians are illegal in a nation that has not endorsed UN conventions for Asylum.

No flood support is available to them, so they face a huge uphill struggle to survive as the price of food and household goods increases due large swathes of crop destruction, travel restrictions and commercial loss – contributing to inflated prices.

Christians found drinking poisonous water from contaminated pump – given new clean water pump.

By

Almost 16 Christian families near starvation have become the 11th community served food by British Asian Christian Association, since the terrible record-breaking floods of 2022.

The community resided in a tiny hamlet named Dariya Khan Chandio and were finally visited by our group on 27th September 2022.

Until BACA arrived the community had not been met by any aid agency and were near starvation.  No Government or other rescue agency offered any support to these Christians.

BACA have now provided food, mosquito nets and installed a new water pump to help this suffering community.  PLEASE WATCH VIDEO BELOW:

On 16th September, BACA received a call from Harlal Masih a local villager who sought help for the small community.

Our volunteer Evangelist Danayal Masih travelled almost 60 Km from Berani, to meet Harlal and other Christian families and ascertain what support was needed.  Danyal had already prepared 16 food bags one for each of the families living in the hamlet.  Some of the travel was extremely difficult as roads were blocked, bridges were still broken and areas were still flooded, but Danayal got through.
