Illiterate school employees accused of blasphemy after they burnt loose scraps of paper while cleaning school cupboard

A petty dispatcher and gardener working at a girls school in  Arif Wala, Pakpattan have been booked under the draconian blasphemy laws of Pakistan.

Musarat Bibi and Muhammad Sarman cleared out a school cupboard and burnt scraps of paper, later identified as parts of a Koran.

Four days later they found themselves in a prison cell under arrest for blasphemy and face a life sentence.
