Urgent Appeal: Protection required for Christian woman falsely accused of BlasphemyDear all, Greetings from Thailand.
Thank you to all of you who contributed to my University led Go Abroad programme, that has enabled me teach English to tribal children in Thailand. I was able to attend without any cost to myself as your donations covered the full cost of £1800. At the end of my volunteering programme I will be spending an extra week in Thailand meeting with Pakistani Christian asylum seekers and bringing you up to
date with the situation in Bangkok.
This is going to be a very quick update as I have little free time while in the
women's volunteering camp but a fuller newsletter will be produced in September. Latest

safe house. This home will be a vital refuge for persecuted Christians, significantly reducing waiting times for those desperately seeking safety and, in many cases, potentially saving lives. You can learn more about this urgent appeal and contribute to this critical cause (here). We remind you of our appeal for persecuted Christians in Manipur, India, where persecution has escalated into a large-scale
humanitarian crisis. Approximately 70,000 internally displaced Christians are receiving minimal aid, primarily provided by churches. We have made this our priority appeal for the coming months. Read more (here). Our volunteers and staff continue to reach Christians suffering abject persecution, steep discrimination and bigotry daily. It is exhausting work,
and we ask that you remember them in your prayers. Blessings to you all. Hannah Chowdhry If you are a regular reader and want to support our work, you can find a range of options for giving donations (here). If you are already giving donations and reside in
the UK you may want to switch from Paypal or Stripe payments and pay directly into the charity bank account as we will receive more of your donation. Our bank details are in the same link above. remain unsatisfied due to a shortage of donations, which may be attributed to our recent email delays and an increase in the number of appeals. We're sharing our last newsletter with you again (here), inviting you to review and consider contributing to any outstanding appeals. Your support is greatly appreciated in helping us meet the needs of those we serve. |

Over 2,000 Homes in Britain at Risk of Demolition Due to RAAC Crisis
Over 2,000 homes across the UK face demolition following the discovery of RAAC, a weak and dangerous concrete material, in their roofs. Among those severely impacted is Hannah Chowdhry, a dedicated volunteer with the
British Asian Christian Association (BACA) and long-time anti-poverty campaigner. Hannah is now confronted with a lifetime of crippling debt, burdened by student loans and a mortgage for a home that may soon no longer exist. Despite these challenges, she is pursuing a dual Scottish and English Law degree at Aberdeen University while actively campaigning for justice alongside her father, Wilson Chowdhry. Hannah and Wilson are urging the public to support their call for action by signing a Scottish Parliament petition to
trigger a debate on the RAAC crisis (click here). Additionally, they are seeking signatures on a UK-wide petition to pressure the government into addressing the crisis more effectively (click here). You can join a protest outside the Scottish Parliament in Edinburgh on 2nd September, coinciding with its reopening after recess (click here).

Village Fair Turns into Nightmare for Two Christian Brothers Accused of Desecrating the Quran
A village fair meant for celebration became a nightmare for two Christian brothers when they were accused of desecrating the Quran. Like many other boys at the fair, the brothers, along with Muslim children, threw fake
currency notes during a swing boat ride. Among the showered notes, some slips containing Quranic verses were discovered. It was assumed that these slips with Quranic verses were torn and thrown by the Christian brothers, leading to the arrest of their mother and grandfather. Although the Christian mother and grandfather were released after the boys were presented at the police station, the mother remains devastated by
the arrest of her beloved sons. A team from the British Asian Christian Association (BACA) visited the
family, providing support to the mother and assuring her of legal and financial assistance in light of the false accusations against her sons.
