Dear Friends, "Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ." 7. Galatians 6:2 (NIV) End of June Update & Thanks As June draws to a close, we want to express our heartfelt thanks to all of you who have donated so
generously this month. Your support has enabled us to clear several outstanding matters, and we’ll be sharing more detailed updates very soon. We are especially delighted to share the joyful news of the marriage of Sunaiha, one of the survivors we’ve supported. Her journey—from abduction to reclaiming her life and now starting a new chapter—is a powerful reminder of the impact your compassion can have. Thanks to your continued giving, we’ve also
completed another hand pump installation, bringing clean water to more families in need. And with the help of a few larger donations, we are hopeful to begin construction of a much-needed shower unit in Alam Choudhary village, helping restore dignity and pride to its residents. Please do continue to support our work. The new appeals we’re launching require us to raise a similar amount in the coming month - around £10,000, ensuring each beneficiary receives the urgent
help they need. Together, we can bring hope, healing, and lasting change. Although we didn’t reach our 10,000 goal for the UK Government petition for RAAC Homeowners, we secured a commendable 7,655 signatures and plan to relaunch it soon. In the meantime, please help by signing our Welsh Government
Petition—we need just 80 more signatures for a government response—and also support our Scottish Parliament Petition. You can learn more about the situation on this Sky News report [Here] and this RAAC blog [Here]. Together, let’s continue to speak up, lift up, and show up—just as Scripture calls us to do. Christian Mother Gang-Raped in Front of Toddler — Police Offer Bribes and Beatings Instead of Justice
A horrific attack on a young Christian woman in Pakistan has once again exposed the deep religious persecution and institutional failures faced by minorities. On 11th June 2025, in Chak 42, Sangla Hill, 20-year-old Sheeza Bibi, a Christian woman, was brutally gang-raped by three Muslim men — Muhammad Mohsin,
Zahid Gujjar, and Muhammad Arslan — while her 3-year-old daughter Dua watched in terror.
Christian Woman in Bonded Labour Harassed and Humiliated by Muslim Landlord in Gojra, Punjab
Family flees in the dead of night after threats of forced conversion and prostitution In a disturbing incident of sexual harassment and physical intimidation, a young Christian woman and her family were forced to flee from their home in Chak 361, Gojra, Punjab. The family, who had been living in servant quarters on a cattle farm owned by a Muslim landlord,
endured months of torment, including beatings, threats, and sexually motivated abuse—all because of a debt they owed to their employer.
From Abduction to Hope: The Remarkable Rescue and Recovery of Sunaiha Sharif
A terrifying ordeal for one young Christian girl has turned into a story of justice, resilience, and hope—thanks to the determined support of the British Asian Christian Association (BACA). On 9th January 2025, 14-year-old Sunaiha Sharif was abducted from her home in Korpur village, Sialkot, Pakistan. Her abductors—Samina Bibi and her daughter Amina Bibi—had recently moved into the
neighbourhood and posed as poor women in need of help. The Sharif family, motivated by Christian compassion, shared food and kindness with the new neighbours. But that kindness was cruelly exploited.
Heartfelt Thanks to OurNabeel Masih Battles Hepatitis E Amid Final Phase of Blasphemy Trial
Nabeel Masih, a 24-year-old Christian man from Phoolnagar, District Kasur, has once again found himself fighting for his life—not only in a Pakistani courtroom but also against a serious health crisis. Nabeel’s ordeal began on 18th September 2016, when he was falsely accused of blasphemy for allegedly sharing a blasphemous image on Facebook. Arrested at the age of 16, Nabeel
languished in District Jail Kasur for nearly five years without a conviction. Thanks to the legal and humanitarian efforts of the British Asian Christian Association (BACA), he was finally released on bail in March 2021. Since his release, BACA has stood by Nabeel, providing him with a secure residence, medical care, legal aid, and transportation to
court. Despite these protections, Nabeel’s physical health has deteriorated significantly, in large part due to the stress and trauma of his protracted legal battle.
Christian and Hindu Families in Trapped in Thailand: BACA Brings Lifeline to Forgotten Christian Asylum Seekers
Thousands of Pakistani Christian families fleeing brutal religious persecution have found themselves trapped in Thailand—a country that offers no formal recognition or protection to asylum seekers. Without legal status, these families are forced to live as undocumented migrants, facing constant fear, hardship, and uncertainty. Thailand’s immigration laws are
unforgiving. Asylum seekers, many of whom have lived in the country for over a decade, are denied the right to work, access healthcare, or enrol their children in school. Regular police raids and the threat of arrest and detention in harsh conditions at the Immigration Detention Centre (IDC) hang over them like a shadow. Life in hiding has become a daily reality.
Tragic Death of Christian Worker Highlights Negligence and Danger Faced by Marginalised Labourers in Pakistan
On 10th June 2025, 35-year-old Aslam Masih, a Christian tubewell operator, tragically lost his life due to exposure to poisonous gases while attempting to unblock a sewer line at the US 3 Garment Factory in Lahore. The heartbreaking incident sheds light on the unsafe and exploitative working conditions often faced by Christian workers in Pakistan. According to eyewitnesses,
Aslam had no training or experience in sewer maintenance but was ordered by his superior, Hafiz Muhammad Zikriya, to clean a blocked sewer. Shortly after descending into the manhole, he fell unconscious due to the toxic gases. In a desperate attempt to save him, two colleagues — Shahbaz Masih and Pervaiz Masih — also entered the manhole but were themselves rendered unconscious.
Clean Water, Changed Lives: A New Dawn for Alam Choudhary Village in Sindh
In the rural village of Alam Choudhary in Sindh, life has taken a remarkable turn—thanks to a simple yet life-changing act of compassion. On June 12, 2025, BACA (British Asian Christian Association) installed a water pump in the heart of the village, bringing clean, accessible water directly to the homes of dozens of families.
Earlier this year, in May 2025, the Hindu and Christian residents of Alam Choudhary reached out to BACA through our dedicated volunteer, Evangelist Daniyal Masih. They shared the daily hardship faced by women and children who were forced to walk nearly 4 kilometres every day—twice—to a solitary,
distant water source located by a graveyard.
Some appeals remain unsatisfied due to a shortage of donations, which may be attributed to our recent email delays and an increase in the number of appeals. We're sharing our last newsletter with you again (here), inviting you to review and consider contributing to any outstanding appeals. Your support is greatly appreciated in helping us meet the needs of those we serve. Deprived Children in Peru (sorry I
added the Challenges Abroad main donation link last time)In addition to my work with BACA, I am traveling abroad with my university’s Challenges Abroad team to support deprived children in Peru. This follows the impactful experience in Thailand I had last year, where I gained valuable insights into how charities uplift vulnerable children. I hope to build on that knowledge to enhance BACA’s work in supporting disadvantaged communities. To help
cover the costs of this program, the Challenges Abroad team has launched a Chuffed Campaign (click here), and any donations would be deeply appreciated. Your support will allow me to participate in this important initiative while continuing my mission to bring hope to those in need. So far,
I have raised £40 towards the £2,000 needed for the volunteer experience, and I hope more of you will join me in supporting this cause. Your generosity enables us to fight for justice, safety, and freedom for those who need it most. Please consider making a donation—every contribution helps us continue this vital work. “Defend the weak and the fatherless; uphold the cause of the poor and the oppressed.” — Psalm 82:3 With
gratitude and blessings, Hannah Chowdhry British Asian Christian Association
