“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted
and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” – Psalm 34:18
Dear Friends and Supporters,
Grief, Courage, and Compassion: Standing with Pakistan’s Christians
In the wake of last week’s stories — the acquittal and passing of
Pastor Zafar Bhatti, the devastating floods in Sindh and Kasur, and the brutal attacks on Shoaib and Asif Masih — our work in Pakistan continues with heavy hearts but steadfast hope.
In our next newsletter, we will also share the first video message from Zafar Bhatti’s widow, in which she reflects on her painful loss and urges Western nations to push Pakistan to reform or repeal its
blasphemy laws to prevent more innocent Christians from suffering.
Your prayers and support have carried us this far, yet we have not secured the full funding needed to complete this vital work. We still need to raise £4,000 to continue essential flood relief — including repairs to Shabir Masih’s home, two further medical camps, and small-scale rebuilding for families whose homes were damaged by the
recent monsoon floods.
We are however, delighted to share that the legal process for purchasing BACA’s new Safe House in Pakistan is nearly complete. Juliet Chowdhry plans to travel to Pakistan in November to finalise the purchase, marking a huge step forward in our mission to protect victims of persecution. More details on this will follow soon.
Tragedy in Sialkot: The Murder of Yousaf Masih
In Sialkot, 44-year-old
Yousaf Masih, a Christian painter and father of three young daughters, was found brutally murdered just two days after going missing. His mutilated body was discovered on a garbage heap — a chilling reminder of the daily dangers faced by Pakistan’s Christians.
His daughters are now orphaned and destitute, their lives shattered overnight. BACA has stepped in to provide legal aid, financial support, and
pastoral care, ensuring this grieving family is not left alone in their search for justice and healing. [Read more on our blog ➜]
Hope After Heartbreak: The Children of Shama
and Shahzad Masih
The orphaned children of Shama and Shahzad Masih — burned alhttps://www.britishasianchristians.org/baca-news/little-blessings-how-a-cupboard-became-a-symbol-of-love-and-care/ive in 2014 by a violent mob — continue to rebuild their lives under BACA’s care. During a recent visit, the children’s humble wish for a cupboard to store their clothes touched our team deeply.
This simple act of kindness brought smiles and comfort, reminding
them that they are loved, remembered, and never alone. [Read more ➜]
Cry for Justice: The Rape of 14-Year-Old Kinza Bibi
On 2nd September 2025, 14-year-old Kinza
Bibi, a Christian girl from village Dhani in Hafizabad District, was brutally raped by her Muslim neighbour, Muhammad Haroon. Kinza is now receiving trauma care in a safe location, but her attacker remains free on pre-arrest bail.
BACA is providing legal aid, counselling, and protection as we fight for justice in her case. Kinza’s courage in the face of unimaginable suffering reminds us why our
mission must continue. [Read more ➜]
Serving at Home: Hope for the Homeless in Redbridge
Since 2019, BACA has been at the heart of homelessness support in Redbridge through our
Meals for the Homeless project. During the COVID-19 lockdowns, we were the only service still operating, led by Hannah Chowdhry, then just 16 years old. Our team served meals and ran a food bank for over 60 people twice daily — efforts that earned the Faith and Belief Award (2020) for outstanding community service.
With numbers now exceeding 75 visitors a day, we are preparing to relocate to
a new Ilford site where caravans will provide space for hot meals, laundry, clothing, and community care — ensuring this vital work expands and continues in a safer, more welcoming setting. [Read more
