Dear Friends and Supporters, We are writing to provide important updates on our work supporting persecuted and at-risk Christian families, as
well as to share urgent appeals that still require your help. Permanent Safe House: First Floor Construction Begins We are excited to announce that construction on the first floor of our Permanent Safe House will begin next week, providing a secure refuge for at-risk families. This historic project is made possible thanks to a generous donation from our original concept funder. The Safe House represents a long-term commitment to
protect vulnerable Christian families, and we ask that you keep this important effort in your prayers as work begins (click here).
Recent Appeals and UpdatesSumaira
George: The British Asian Christian Association (BACA) continues to stand alongside vulnerable Christian families in Pakistan who face injustice, intimidation, and violence. One such case is that of Sumaira George, a 14-year-old Christian girl from Chak 82/6R, Sahiwal, whose life was brutally shattered by sexual violence—and whose family has since endured relentless pressure, threats, and fear. BACA has provided critical support to ensure the family’s safety and access to legal
recourse. Read more (here) Shumaya Saleem: On 10 December, Shumaya Saleem, a six-year-old
Christian girl, was brutally attacked in Jaranwala by Muhammad Uzair (19). Shumaya had gone to the home of her tuition teacher, Miss Siffat (24), for additional lessons. After the lesson ended, Muhammad Uzair took Shumaya into the living room within the residential portion of the school premises, where he raped her. The City Police Station Jaranwala registered FIR No. 2015/25 under Section 376 of the Pakistan Penal Code. A forensic team collected evidence, and the accused was sent for DNA
analysis. BACA is supporting Shumaya and her family financially and morally during this devastating time. Read more (here). Narowal Roof Collapse: A devastating roof collapse in Narowal claimed the life of a young child and left Nasir Masih’s family of 16 homeless and grieving. Already burdened by past losses, the family was forced to live in cramped rented rooms while struggling with poverty and trauma. BACA stepped in, covering funeral and medical costs and pledging to rebuild their home with stronger, safer foundations.

Sialkot Assault: A 24-year-old Christian farm worker with an intellectual disability was brutally beaten by his Muslim employer in Sialkot for arriving late to feed cattle. Christian Nurses Acquitted After Four Years of Persecution Two Christian nurses in Pakistan, Mariam Lal and Newosh Arooj, have been acquitted of blasphemy charges after more than four years of legal uncertainty, intimidation, and enforced hiding. Both employed at Civil Hospital in Faisalabad, Punjab, they faced an incredibly difficult period marked by fear and threats,
highlighting the extreme vulnerability of religious minorities under Pakistan’s blasphemy laws. In November 2025, a district court cleared them of all charges after the prosecution failed to produce credible evidence, and with the statutory period for appeal now expired, their acquittal is confirmed. This outcome is a significant moment of justice and relief for the nurses, their families, and the wider Christian community. Read more (here). RAAC Homeowners Campaign: As someone whose own home has been devastated by the Reinforced Autoclaved Aerated
Concrete (RAAC) crisis, this campaign is not abstract for me—it is deeply personal. It is about safety, dignity, and whether families who did nothing wrong are treated fairly or simply abandoned. Over recent weeks, there have been important developments in Scotland and at Westminster. While none yet deliver the justice homeowners deserve, together they show that persistence, unity, and truth are forcing governments to listen. Read more (here)

By Hannah Chowdhry – RAAC-affected homeowner and Co-Vice Chair, UK RAAC Campaign Group: As someone whose own home has been devastated by the Reinforced Autoclaved Aerated Concrete (RAAC) crisis, this campaign is not abstract for me — it is deeply personal. Standing with the Persecuted: BACA’s Relief Efforts in Thailand
Pakistani Christian asylum seekers in Thailand live in constant fear due to the country’s refusal to recognise refugees, leaving them vulnerable to arrest and detention. As police raids intensify in December, many families are forced into isolation, unable to work or access basic services. On 30th November, BACA
provided urgent food grants to 10 struggling Christian families, helping them afford essentials like rent, medicine, and food. This support brings vital hope to a community trapped in uncertainty and searching for safety, dignity, and compassion.
Christian Asylum-Seeking Family Seized in Thai Immigration Raid—BACA Launches Urgent Bail Appeal
A Pakistani Christian asylum-seeking family in Thailand was torn apart when immigration police arrested three adults and detained them in harsh IDC conditions. Their 15-year-old son was released due to his age, leaving his 20-year-old brother struggling alone to care for him. The family urgently needs 150,000 Thai Baht to secure

doorstep. The community is asking for help again—this time, to build a much-needed washroom.
New: Support Children Artists and BACA’s Work
We are excited to launch our new online shop, showcasing beautiful crystal art canvasses worked on by children from deprived families. Each canvas is priced between £40–£70. While the purchase cost of the artwork ranges from just £4.99–£13.99, there have been additional expenses for transport and handling. The purpose of this project is to
offer a meaningful way for people who might not usually donate to support these children’s futures—by purchasing their artwork, you give a gift that directly empowers and encourages them. These children dedicate their time and passion to create beautiful artwork. All proceeds support them and BACA’s work with orphans and persecuted Christians. Explore the shop and make a difference: [Visit our Crystal Art Shop]

Supporting Vulnerable Children in Peru — A Personal MissionAlongside my work with BACA, I will soon be joining my university’s Challenges Abroad team to support deprived children in Peru. This opportunity follows the life-changing experience I had in Thailand last year, where I witnessed first-hand how charities can transform the lives of vulnerable
children. I hope to bring the skills and understanding I gained back to strengthen BACA’s mission of supporting disadvantaged communities around the world. To help fund this program, our Challenges Abroad team has launched a Chuffed Campaign. I have already raised £560 towards the £2,000 needed for this volunteer experience, and I noticed that the link in our previous articles was incorrect. The correct link
is now provided, and any donation, no matter the size, would mean the world to me. Your generosity will not only enable me to participate in this important work, but also equip me to return with fresh ideas, strategies, and inspiration to help BACA continue its fight for justice, safety, and freedom for those who need it most. “Defend the weak and the fatherless; uphold the cause of the
poor and the oppressed.” — Psalm 82:3 With gratitude and blessings, Hannah Chowdhry British Asian Christian Association For more ways to support our work, please visit our donation page.
